GOOD EATS

There are plenty of great restaurant options in both West Palm Beach and Palm Beach. Some of our favorites are below, but we recommend calling ahead to check wait times.

Breakfast

Howley's
Makeb's
Hive

Howley's is a WPB fixture that originally opened in 1950; it has a massive menu and is also open late. Makeb's is a good, grab and go option downtown for bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Hive offers tasty lattes and delicious pastries, as well as a full brunch menu.

Lunch

Aioli
Tropical BBQ Market
El Camino

Aioli is a great deli just south of downtown. Tropical BBQ Market offers slow-cooked meats with a Caribbean twist, and its chef was a James Beard semifinalist in 2022. Finally, El Camino at The Square offers solid Mexican food with a nice vibe.

Dinner

Kapow
Grato
Lynora's

Andrew is a fan of Kapow, which offers modern Asian cuisine and is located on Clematis (the main drag). Lindley likes the pizza at Grato, which is walkable from their house and adjacent to Civil Society Brewing. Another good option downtown is Lynora's, which may or may not feature a hidden speakeasy.

Drinks

123 Datura
Hullabaloo
Seafood Bar at The Breakers

123 Datura has a good happy hour and awesome late night food options, like pizza and hot dogs. Hullabaloo offers a unique back patio, where you can enjoy your drink in a vintage Airstream. For the ultimate bar experience though, head to the Seafood Bar at The Breakers in Palm Beach; the bar itself is a massive aquarium, so you can watch fish swim beneath your cocktail glass.

LOCAL FLAIR

West Palm's natural beauty is undeniable, and it punches above its weight in terms of cultural offerings. Below are a few suggestions for area attractions.

Shopping

Wander through the vias on Worth Avenue, and grab a photo of the iconic clock tower. Stroll through the Royal Poinciana shops before heading back across the bridge. Once back in West Palm Beach, check out Grandview Market and Antique Row.

Sports

Go for a run, bike ride, or walk along the Lake Trail. If you're a golfer, we recommend the new public course The Park. We also fully support lazing around the pool or on the beach, and there's great walk-in snorkeling accessible from Blue Heron Blvd.

Culture

Check out The Breakers, an iconic hotel built by Henry Morrison Flagler in 1896. Tour the exhibits on display at The Norton Museum of Art. Create your own walking tour of the murals scattered across downtown, or plan a visit to Mounts Botanical Garden.

GETTING AROUND

Downtown West Palm Beach is pedestrian-friendly, particularly in early November. Here are some of the best ways to get around town.

PLANES

The closest airports are the Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) and the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL). PBI has a limited number of direct flights, but once you land, you're a quick 5 minute drive to downtown. FLL is about a 1 hour drive, but it usually offers a greater number of direct flights.

TRAINS

Our area is served by two train services. Brightline is a high speed train that connects West Palm Beach to Miami and Orlando. Its West Palm Beach station drops you off downtown. Tri Rail is a commuter train that includes stops at the Fort Lauderdale and Miami airports. A Tri Rail trip is slower but cheaper.

AUTOMOBILES

There are numerous rental car agencies at PBI. In addition, Uber and Lyft are readily available in our area, at all hours. Rideshare pickup at PBI is on Level 3 (Departures), along the outer curb. You should also check out RideWPB and Circuit for on demand, low or no cost rides in Teslas and electric golf carts.

THANK YOU!

Your love, support, and company on our wedding day is the greatest gift of all. However, if you wish to honor us with a gift, please see our registries below.

CRATE & BARREL

For Our Home
In Flamingo Park

Where Cricket, our Parson Russell Terrier, rules the roost, barks neurotically at the Amazon truck, and begs for all of Andrew's smoked barbeque.

CASH REGISTRY

For Our Honeymoon
To Tokyo, Osaka, & Kyoto, Japan

Where Andrew will take pictures of bullet trains,
Lindley will shop for Hello Kitty and skincare, and
we'll both eat too much sushi.

NO STUPID QUESTIONS

Below are the answers to some frequently asked questions.

If you have a question that is not answered below, shoot us an email at BassettUhlirWedding@gmail.com, and we'll get back to you.

WHAT WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT?

We will be right on the intracoastal waterway, so you should expect a slight ocean breeze. The average temperature in Palm Beach in November is a high of 81 degrees and a low of 65 degrees.

WILL THERE BE PARKING AVAILABLE?

There is plentiful parking available at The Flagler Museum, which is accessible via Cocoanut Row and Whitehall Way. Please arrive early enough to give yourself sufficient time to park. You should not plan to leave your vehicle parked at The Flagler Museum overnight. We will provide transportation between the two hotels at which we have reserved room blocks and the wedding venue.

WILL WE BE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

We are planning for the ceremony and reception to be indoors; weather permitting, the cocktail hour will take place on an outdoor terrace along the intracoastal waterway. There will also be a few outdoor lounge areas for those seeking a quieter place for conversation or the chance to cool off after busting a move on the dance floor.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

The dress code for our wedding is black tie optional, which means fancy but not necessarily a tux. We expect that most attendees will wear dark suits and floor length dresses.

CAN I BRING A PLUS-ONE?

The wedding invitation you receive will indicate how many seats we have reserved for you. In general, both the size of our venue and our desire to limit our guests to those we know well may prevent us from extending a plus-one invitation.

ARE CHILDREN INVITED?

With respect, our wedding festivities will be adults-only occasions. We only granted special exceptions for the children in our immediate families, and we put them straight to work as flower girl and ring bearer.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE CEREMONY?

We kindly ask that you refrain from using phones and cameras during our wedding ceremony. Feel free to morph into paparazzi during the cocktail hour and reception.

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

You will be able to describe your dietary restrictions when you RSVP. If we have any follow up questions regarding your restrictions, we will reach out to you for clarification.

HOW CAN I SHARE PHOTOS FROM THE WEEKEND?

Feel free to share your photos on social media by tagging us with #TheUhlyweds. You can also email your favorites to us at BassettUhlirWedding@gmail.com.
